The following is a scan of the final published line drawing to accompany the full publication of all the pertinent data concerning the new species night bloomer. The expectation is that it will be published in early 2009. The artist is Katherine Pittman.

April 21, 2008

Immediately below are new pictures taken last week of immature leaves of a fascinating night bloomer species. It comes true from seed. Please observe the fantastic mottling in the juvenile leaves. More information will be released as the research is completed and the publications are submitted to BRIT...formerly called SIDA.

January 3, 2008

Preliminary research indicates this new taxon to be a new species of the lotos subgenus.

Research is in progress at the IWPR. Finalization of the descriptive data will be avaiable in 2008.

The publication will be placed at The Journal of the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, formerly called Sida, Contributions to Botany.

The holotype material will be located at the University of Texas Rare Plant Research Center.
